FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How does credit restoration work?

We start by reviewing your credit reports from all three bureaus — Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. We identify items that appear inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or unverifiable, then prepare and send disputes to the bureaus and the companies reporting the information. By law, the bureaus must investigate and respond, usually within 30 days.

Will my credit score go up?

No — and you should be cautious of any company that promises a specific score increase or deletion. What we provide is a thorough review, properly prepared disputes when appropriate, and clear communication about your file throughout the process.

How long does the process take?

It depends on your file. Credit-reporting agencies generally have investigation periods established by applicable law, and timing can vary based on the circumstances of each dispute. The length of the process varies based on each client’s credit profile, the issues being addressed, and the responses received from furnishers and credit-reporting agencies. We'll give you a realistic picture after reviewing your reports.

What kinds of items can be challenged?

Common examples include late payments, collections, charge-offs, repossessions, bankruptcies, hard inquiries, medical bills, evictions, and student loans — when they are reported inaccurately, incompletely, or can't be verified. Accurate, verifiable items generally stay on your report until they age off.

Is credit restoration legal?

Yes. The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) gives you the right to an accurate credit report and the right to dispute errors. The Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA) sets the rules companies like ours must follow. You can also dispute items on your own for free — many people simply prefer experienced help.

What do you need from me to get started?

After your consultation, we'll ask you to complete our intake form. It collects your contact details, credit monitoring login, CFPB account details, a government-issued photo ID, your Social Security number, and proof of address. These documents let us verify your identity and work with the bureaus on your behalf.

How much does it cost?

Pricing depends on the condition of your file and the work involved. We go over everything during your free consultation before you commit to anything — no surprises.

Will disputing items hurt my credit score?

Simply filing a dispute does not lower your score. While an account is under investigation, the bureau may note it as 'in dispute.' Scores can move up or down as items are corrected, updated, or removed, which is why we pair disputes with coaching on the habits that build credit long term.
